Woody Woodpecker (voiced by Mel Blanc, then by Billy West and currently Eric Bauza) is a goofy woodpecker from the Woody Woodpecker cartoons. Woody is a goofy woodpecker with a famous laugh ("Heh-heh-heh-HEH-ho!"), who debuted in the 1940 Walter Lantz cartoon Knock Knock. He loves to play pranks and raise hell for characters like Wally Walrus and Buzz Buzzard. Woody is likely the cartoon character with the longest-running series of cartoons, spanning from Knock Knock in 1940 to 1972's Bye, Bye Blackboard. He had a long-running show in syndication, as well as a TV show called The New Woody Woodpecker Show in 1998, a 2017 live action/animated movie and a 2018 YouTube series of the same names.
