The Three Masked Knights were once three students from Duel Academy who, while the school was in another dimension, got so hungry that they made a deal with Marcel/Yubel that if they got food, they would serve him and duel the Axel, Jim, and Jesse for a distraction. They were returned to normal after being defeated.
