Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf (portrayed by Ciaran Hinds) is the general and leader of Apokolips' armies and uncle of Darkseid. Originally, Steppenwolf was the younger brother of Heggra, wife to the then-ruler of Apokolips.  Steppenwolf was also the uncle of Uxas. Steppenwolf was indirectly involved in the events which transformed Uxas into Darkseid.  From there, Steppenwolf eventually became the general-in-chief of Apokolips' armies. 

Steppenwolf has proven his loyalty and worth to Darkseid on numerous occasions. During an excursion to an abandoned planet, Steppenwolf and Darkseid encountered the inhuman monster known as Doomsday. Darkseid and Doomsday fought, slaughtering most of Darkseid's forces. Steppenwolf manged to save Darkseid's life by teleporting him from the planet of battle, which exploded due to Darkseid and Doomsday's battle. Steppenwolf is also directly responsible for re-starting the war between Apokolips and New Genesis. He did this by killing Highfather's beloved wife. Steppenwolf is also one of the first Apokoliptian villains encountered by the Justice League.
