Richard Tyler (performed and voiced by Macaulay Culkin) is the main protagonist of The Pagemaster. He has a thing for statistics, information, and safety so much, that his parents are concerned over him getting picked on. One day, Richard's father asked him go buy nails, though Richard was not so sure about it, and got lost in a thunderstorm, ending up in the Library. While inside, Richard soon entered a room, in short, was sent to the world of books, and made some great friends, The Pagemaster,Adventure, Fantasy, and Horror. During his travels, Richard learns how sometimes that Logic isn't the answer, and got brave to do very courageous events, like fighting Pirates, facing a mad scientist, and battling a Fire Breathing Dragon.
