Mr. Stein (voiced by Marc Thompson) was a teacher at Duel Academy who had a grudge on Jaden for his position as one of the top duelists at the school despite his grades. This set an example for others that they don't need to study in order to be successful. Stein's grudge on Jaden grew more when Alexis started ditching his classes. Viper hired Stein to Duel Jaden in order to get his Duel Energy. During the duel, Viper threatened to drow Alexis is Jaden wins. Stein ignored Alexis' cries for help as payback to both her and Jaden. But Alexis was saved and Jaden won the duel. Stein ended up falling to his presumed death.

- In Stein's Final Test, Stein tries to end Jaden's carrier as a Pro Duelist with the fact that he never got his diploma and graduated from Duel Academy.
- Jeffrey has strong hatred for Stein for insulting Jaden.
