Mr. Snuffleupagus a.k.a. "Snuffy" (currently performed by Martin P. Robinson) is a character on Sesame Street. He has the appearance of a woolly mammoth without visible ears and tusks. He is Big Bird's best friend. At first, Snuffy was thought to be Big Bird's imaginary friend, but that was because everyone kept missing chances to see him. This continued until Big Bird orchestrated a plan to have the adults finally see him, and it worked. Now everyone knows that Snuffy is real.
