Mowgli (voiced by Bruce Reutherman in the first movie and Haley Joel Osment in the sequel) is the main protagonist of The Jungle Book movies. Mowgli was raised by wolves as a baby, hence why he is called "man-cub". When Shere-Khan came into the jungle, Mowgli was told to live in the man village, because Shere Khan would be looking for him. But Mowgli refused and wanted to stay in the jungle. Many of the jungle inhabitants had their sight set on Mowgli for their own reasons, but Mowgli didn't trust any of them to be his friends. Eventually, Shere Khan and Mowgli met, and with the help of Baloo the Bear and the Vultures, Mowgli was able to stop him. In the end, Mowgli decided to stay in the man village after meeting a girl named Shanti. Eventually, he soon told his story about how he lived in the Jungle. However, one day got in trouble with one of the villagers parents, Ranjan's Father, and was punished. When both Baloo, and Shere Khan came to the village to find Mowgli, but when Shanti calls out because of Baloo, but the trouble towards Shere Khan, and he escapes into the jungle with Baloo. After heading in, Mowgli, and aloo spend a lot of catching up time to make up for the his time in The Man Village. One day during his time back in the Jungle, he hears from Bagheera that humans are looking for him. Eventually, he heads to temple of King Louie, however, Louie isn't there anymore. Sadly, he starts to feel like he misses his home and leaves the temple. He reunites with Shanti and Ranjan, but then run off after learning from Ballo from his plan to scare her away. Mowgli catches up with them, and tries to explains what happened, but they soon encounter a reunion with Shere Khan, and mange to evade him, and with Baloo, and Shanti's help they outwit Shere Khan, and leave in a lavapit. He Runites with Bagheera, and introduces him to Shanti, then over hearing the search party, he chooses wheather to go with his friends, or stay in the jungle, and heads back to the search party and friends. He apollogizes to his father, and when he tries to explain why he ran away, he is stopped by his father, and is given an apology from him, knowing that he should 've understood that the jungle was a part of who Mowgli is. He now visits the jungle with Shanti, and Ranjan to meet Baloo, and the gang when they go and get water for there vase.
