Darkseid (voiced by Michael Ironside) is the absolute ruler of Apokolips, would-be conqueror of the universe and Superman's and The Ed's greatest enemy. Darkseid is no mere alien being but rather a New God, a race of extradimmensional beings that embody extradimmsional ideas and as such go beyond space and time.
Darkseid was originally known as Uxas, son of the former rulers of Apokolips. He eventually rose to power by betraying his brother, Drax, to obtain the Omega Effect and becoming the being known as Darkseid. He then sired two different children, Orion and Kalibak. On Apokolips, Darkseid is viewed as an absolute god, both worshiped and feared by his subjects. The most common phrase on Apokolips that embodies this idea is the mantra of Apokolips: "Darkseid is."
He psychically feeds on the despair and misery of others. Darkseid has conquered and subjugated an unspecified number of planets throughout the universe. Darkseid has only three goals: to conquer Earth, & destroy the Justice League, & find & acquire the "Anti-Life Equation". He was defeated by Lex Luthor, when he gave him The Anti-Life Equation, taking them both when the equation was activated.
