Cowardly Lion (performed by the late Bert Lahr) is the final traveling companion of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. A circus lion from Nebraska. Lion is as brave as he is curious, but is occasionally disillusioned of his bravery since he believes the medal given to him by his old friend Oscar is the key to his courage. After his medal is stolen by the Wicked Witch of the East, Lion separates from Juniper Lee and company to follow four other travelers (Dorothy [with Toto], Scarecrow and the Tin Woodsman) on their way to the Emerald City.

- Fluttershy, DJ and Courage gets along with the Cowardly Lion due to their timidity.
- The Cowardly Lion has met and befriended Juniper Lee when she helped him save OZ during the events of Juniper Lee's Adventures of the Lion of OZ
- Just like in the 1939 movie "Wizard of Oz," Lion is a "victim of disorganized thinking." He is not a real coward but simply thinks that he is because he's been running away from danger ever since he lost his Badge of Courage.
