Courtney's Raichu is an Electric-type Pokemon and Courtney's second partner. Raichu joined Courtney when it was just a Pikachu. It was about to go over a waterfall until Ash's Pikachu jumped into the water to save it. When Pikachu returned to Ash, it asked if it could come along with Courtney and she happily accepts. While on a journey through the Sinnoh Region, Team Rocket was stealing the Pokemon Center's Pokeballs! Courtney sent it out to fight Team Rocket and she discovered that it stole a Thunder Stone from Ash Ketchum and evolved into Raichu.
