• (The door automatically opens. The Great Tree of the Ever After is shown, towering over the Jungle Acre)
• Narrator: Before she went back home, the girl had a great many questions to ponder.
• (Then the Tree is later shown in a sketch from the storybook)
• Narrator: After all the lessons she’d learned, and the friends she'd made *the page turns* and lost.
• (Summer Rose is sitting on her chair, telling the story of “The Girl Who Fell Through the World” to a young Yang Xiao Long and Ruby Rose, who are fast asleep)
• Summer: *narrating* Who had she become? Would she still be the same Alyx when she went back home? The leaves of the tree rustled, and on the wind, Alyx heard one more question…
• (Elsewhere in the Ever After, Ruby is seen, now petrified in wood)
• Summer: *narrating* What… are you?
• (Back in the Origami Acre, Courtney was looking at the Great Tree in the distance from the cliff she is sitting on in the previous episode in tears all because she misses her big sister; Ruby after seeing her commit suicide by going through ascension after she drank the tea tainted with a leaf from the Great Tree as the music starts)
• Courtney: *hangs her head down in sadness and sings* I’m lost…
• Ruby (voice): *sings* I’m low…
• Courtney: *sings* Nowhere…
• Ruby (voice): *sings* To go…
• Courtney: *looks to her right and sings* It hurts…
• Ruby (voice): *sings* To know…
• Both: *sings* We’re far apart.
• Courtney: *sings* Wish I could see… Where she might be… Oh, why are we…
• Both: *sings* So far apart? Friends need their friends. On each one the other depends. Like a rainbow lovely and rare, all the colors need to be there.

• Courtney: *looks at the vibranium emblem pin that she made for her big sister after pulling it out of her bag as she sniffs and sheds a tear* I miss you… *puts it back in her bag and looks down at the ground in sadness until she decides to head back to the flooded village to meet back up with Yang, Blake, Weiss, and Jaune by using her ears to fly back*
• (Back with Jaune, Yang, Weiss and Blake, they ride on Juniper to get out of the Abandoned Acre)
• Jaune: I don’t understand! Alyx, the Pleasers, now Ruby! What does this place want?
• (They arrive back in the Origami Acre and at the flooded village of the Paper Pleasers as they all get off Juniper’s back)
• Courtney: Guys!
• Jaune: Courtney!
• Courtney: *lands in Blake’s arms after she catches her*
• Blake: *places her on the ground*

Courtney the leader of Team CRWBY

• Jaune: *looks at the Great Tree in the distance as he sighs and turns to Courtney* What’ll we do now?
• Courtney: *surprised that Jaune asked her about what to do next* Why are you asking me? 'Cause I don’t have a clue! *buries her face in her paws*
• Weiss: *kneels down next to her* You’re our leader now, Courtney. So, you have to lead us.
• Courtney: *gasps in realization after hearing that* Quita Moz said the flames saw me replacing Ruby as leader. This is what he meant… I’m the leader now… *to Blake, Yang, Weiss, and Jaune* In that case…
• (They lean in to listen to Courtney)
• Courtney: *looks down for a bit and looks back up at Yang, Weiss, Blake, and Jaune* You guys stay here, I need some time to think… *goes off to have some time to herself as she stares at the ground while her ears were down in sadness and sheds some tears meaning that she misses her big sister; Ruby*
• Blake: *her cat ears drop down in sadness after seeing Courtney go off to have some time to herself* Poor thing…
• Yang: *puts her prosthetic hand on Blake’s shoulder and holds her hand as she and Blake touch foreheads* I know how she feels… *sheds some tears*
• Weiss: She really misses Ruby…
• Blake: One of us should go talk to her.
• Jaune: Not it.
• Weiss: *goes over to him and puts her hand on his shoulder* Jaune, you always know what to say.
• Jaune: *nods to Weiss as he follows Courtney, secretly without her knowing*

Wherever You Are/Jaune and Courtney apologize

• (Courtney was having some time to herself after she saw Ruby ascend to the Great Tree unaware that Jaune was watching from a distance. She looks at the bandanna that Ruby made for her around her neck and touches it as she closes her eyes and remembers the promise that they made to each other during their night off in Atlas)
• Courtney: *voice* Thank you, Ruby. I promise I’ll never take it off. I will always treasure it. Just like our friendship.
• Ruby: *voice* And I promise to never leave you.
• Courtney: *opens her eyes and sighs sadly* Ruby… How am I supposed to find my way to the Great Tree? And to you? *looks up at a tall tree while shedding a few tears and sings* Come out, moon. Come out, wishing star. Come out, come out. *climbs up the tree* Wherever you are… *keeps on climbing the tree* I'm out here in the dark, all alone and wide awake. Come and find me. *grabs a branch and swings to the top* I'm empty and I'm cold, and my heart's about to break. Come and find me… *shedding tears* I need you to come here and find me. 'Cause without you, I'm totally lost… I've hung a wish on every star. It hasn't done much good so far… I can only dream of you… *hears Ruby’s laughter and sees a cloud formation of her* Wherever you are. *follows the cloud formation* I'll hear you laugh. I'll see you smile. I'll be with you *sees the cloud formation blow away in the sky as she watches, sadly* Just for a while… But when the morning comes, and the sun begins to rise, I will lose you… *hangs her head down in sadnesss as she walks back towards the other end of the branch* Because it’s just a dream, when I open up my eyes, I will lose you… *begins climbing down the tree* I used to believe in forever. But forever’s too good to be true… I've hung a wish on every star. It hasn't done much good so far… *climbs down the tree* I don't know what else to do… *lands on the ground and pulls out the vibranium emblem pin that she made with her magic out of her bag and sees her reflection in it* Except to try to dream of you… *puts the emblem pin back in her bag* I wonder, if you're dreaming too… Wherever you are. *yawns and stretches* Wherever you are… *lays down next to the tree and falls asleep*
• (Jaune walks up to a sleeping Courtney and puts a blanket on her as he looks down in remorse for what he had said to both her and Ruby when he lost his village and the Paper Pleasers to a flood)
• Courtney: *sleeps until she senses Jaune and turns to see him*
• Jaune: Courtney, we’ve been looking for you. *kneels down to her height*
• Courtney: Oh, Jaune… I-I can’t lead… *looks to her left and sheds some tears as she gestures to the Great Tree in the distance* Ruby has ascended to the Great Tree. I can’t do this without her… *lowers her head in sadness for a bit and then looks at him* Jaune, we gotta get to the Great Tree and find Ruby! It’s all my fault! *hugs Jaune in tears* She never would’ve ascended if it wasn’t for me… I didn’t mean to neglect her feelings… I was just trying to make her happy again… *hugs him, tightly and keeps on crying* We gotta get to the tree, we just gotta!
• Jaune: *hugs Courtney back and sheds a few tears as well and pets her back to comfort her* Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to get to the tree. I promise… *picks her up and holds her in his arms* Courtney, I’m so sorry for yelling at you and Ruby… I never should’ve yelled at you guys… Because of this, I lost a friend and you lost a big sister…
• Courtney: *sheds a tear* I’m sorry too, Jaune… I never should’ve yelled at you either… *her ears drop down in sadness* I was just worried about Ruby, that’s all…
• Jaune: *frowns and looks down*
• Courtney: Jaune…?
• Jaune: *looks up after hearing Courtney*
• Courtney: *sniffs and sheds some more tears* I miss her…
• Jaune: *pets her on the head to comfort her as he sheds some more tears as well* I know… I miss Ruby too… *looks at the Great Tree in the distance while still hugging a tearful, devastated Courtney and thinks to himself* Oh, Ruby… If only I hadn’t yelled at you and Courtney… I promise I’m not gonna raise my voice ever again.

The Genial Gems/Jaune accepts his failures/In the Great Tree

• Jaune: I don’t understand… What did I do wrong?
• Weiss: We can figure this out. There’s got to be a way to get to the Tree.
• ???: Hello there.
• (Jaune and Weiss turn to see a red star-shaped crystal Afteran carrying a basket of berries)
• Red Genial Gem: You appear upset. Would you be so kind as to tell me how I can help? Perhaps you are hungry?
• Jaune: *confused* Huh? *shaking his head* No, that's okay.
• Red Genial Gem: If I can get you anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask! That’s what I’m here for!
• Jaune: What? What are you?
• (The Yellow Genial Gem places their foot into the water)
• Red Genial Gem: We are the Genial Gems, and we’ve arrived here to clean up this beautiful land and create something wonderful and pleasing.
• (Jaune watches the Genial Gems remove the parts of the former village of the Paper Pleasers. Then the Genial Gems wade through the waters and place their hands on it, a glowing light appears. The stream flutters in the air and transforms into a crystal structure)
• Blake: This is them, isn’t it? They’re back.
• Weiss: It’s just like they said. They came back from the Tree, better.
• Yang: No flood or fire will ever hurt them again.
• Jaune: By trying so hard to save them... I stopped them from becoming what they needed to be. I was being selfish because I… I wanted the rush of rescuing someone and I got that here.
• Weiss: I think you’re asking too much of yourself. We’ve been telling ourselves that failing means we’re no good. But I can guarantee even the best Huntsmen in history… they’ve all lost. But they were still incredibly brave… *smiles* and good.
• (Jaune begins to tear up)
• Jaune: Weiss…
• Courtney: *puts her paw on his arm* And I’m here for you too, Jaune. My big brother.
• Jaune: Courtney…
• (Weiss hugs Jaune, with Blake, Yang and Courtney doing the same)
• Jaune: Maybe that Cat was right... Maybe I just needed to accept it. It’s not a place you go.
• (The myriad of the multi-colored leaves from the Great Tree engulf Weiss, Blake, Yang, Jaune, Courtney and Juniper. They find themselves transported inside the Tree)
• Blake: *looks around* What?

Courtney blames herself/Finding Ruby/Learning to Fly

• Weiss: It’s a place you know. *pushes the branches aside*
• (They continue to look around as Weiss pulls the branches off to reveal the Herbalist in it’s wooden state)
• Courtney: *thinks for a moment* Since we’re in the tree, that means… *gasps in realization* Ruby! *activates her alicorn magic as she flies around the tree and searches around for her big sister; Ruby, frantically* There are too many branches! She could be anywhere, I’ll never find her! *lands on the ground after using her alicorn wings to fly and search the tree for Ruby as her ears drop down in sadness* I lost Ruby and it’s all because of me… When I try to be a good friend, I fail at being a leader. And when I try to be a good leader, I fail at being a friend. *takes off the bandanna that Ruby made for her and throws it on the ground while looking to her left side in sadness*
• Yang: *kneels down to Courtney’s height* I know how hard it is to balance leadership and spending time with friends and family. But, it is possible.
• Weiss: We know because we watched you do it.
• Blake: Yang and Weiss are right, Courtney. *kneels down and puts her hand on her shoulder as Courtney looks at Blake after her ear twitches* You’re a model of strength for the heroes and a model of love for your friends and family even us.
• Courtney: *smiles a bit and hugs Blake* Thanks, Blake. You remind so much of my mama; Aqua.
• Blake: *hugs Courtney back* I’m glad I do.
• Jaune: It wasn’t your fault, Courtney. None of it is. *picks up Courtney’s bandanna and hands it to her* The best thing we could do is learn from our mistakes and not repeat them.
• Courtney: You’re right. I could’ve stopped Neo from making Ruby drink that tea but I went after the Curious Cat instead. *puts her bandanna back on her neck*
• (Suddenly, Courtney sensed something as she walks ahead)
• Courtney: *finds Ruby and barks while pointing to her*
• Yang: *hears Courtney’s barking and looks in the other direction* R-Ruby?!
• (Yang runs in that direction and stops, standing in front of Ruby’s wooden form. She steps forward and places both of her hands on the shoulders of her sister then resting her head on Ruby's. Yang's eyes open as she feels something and immediately begins breaking the branches around Ruby. Jaune and Weiss stare at her as Blake is the last to show up. Jaune notices what Yang is doing and walks towards her, about to place his hand on her shoulder)
• Yang: *frantic* We have to get her out!!
• Jaune: I think I get it. This is how we got here, or… why the Tree brought us here. *turns to Juniper* Acceptance.
• Weiss: We've done everything we can. Now it's up to Ruby. Whatever happens next... we have to welcome that.
• Yang: But what if she isn't Ruby anymore when she comes back out?
• (They hear a sound as the herbalist breaks out of their wooden state as a butterfly and flies off)
• Blake: Maybe… that’s not for us to decide. *comforts Yang*
• Yang: *tears up while holding Blake’s hand to her face as she feels something touching her leg and looks down at Courtney who is touching her leg with her paw as she gets down to her height*
• Courtney: It’s not your fault, Yang. It’s mine… for not stopping Neo when I had the chance.
• Yang: *hugs Courtney in tears as she hugs her back*
• Courtney: *nuzzles Yang to comfort her as she looks at her big sister who is encased in wood and she sheds some tears* Ruby…
• (The song; Learning to Fly by Christina Aguilera plays as Courtney closes her eyes and remembers the first time she met Ruby at Beacon Academy after she tripped over Weiss’ luggage and many other happy memories she had with her big sister like their first class together, the food fight in the cafeteria at Beacon Academy, having fun at the Beacon Academy dance, eating lunch at the booths during the Vytal Festival with Team JNPR, protecting her from Tyrian Callows during the journey to Mistral, having an early morning coffee in Mistral, Team CRWBY reunited after the battle at Haven Academy, riding on the train to Argus, getting stuck in the snow together after the train had gone off the cliff during their first official mission as licensed huntresses and giving her the bandanna she made out of her old Mistral cape during their night off in Atlas. A flashback of Courtney and Ruby was shown after Team CRWBY was formed)
• Ruby: Courtney? I just wanted to say… thank you. If it wasn't for you, Weiss and I would've been history.
• Courtney: *giggles* No problem, Ruby. *jumps into Ruby's arms as she licks her face a bit*
• (The flashback ends as it cuts back to Courtney still in tears after opening her eyes still looking at Ruby in her wooden state as the song continues)
• Courtney: *flies up to her height, hugs her big sister in tears while nuzzling her meaning that she really misses Ruby and she really wants her back*
• (Blake, Yang (who is also in tears), Weiss, Jaune, and Juniper felt sorry for Courtney as she continues to cry while still hugging her big sister and the song ends)
• Courtney: *sniffs as she looks at her big sister in her wooden state while she was still crying* You’re my Ohana, Ruby… And I’ll always love you… *releases her big sister from her hug as she goes over to Blake, Yang, Weiss and Jaune to hug them as they all hug her back to comfort her*

Ruby meets Zuzo

• ???: Hey there, Ruby.
• Ruby: *turns around to find Zuzo who is here in the tree* Are you… Zuzo?
• Zuzo: The one and only.
• Ruby: If you have some advice to give to me, I don’t wanna hear it. *looks down*
• Zuzo: *lifts her face* I’m not here for that. I just came here to talk. Hear me out… Your friends are very worried about you.
• Ruby: *surprised and a bit shocked by this*
• Zuzo: Even poor Courtney is devastated… she really misses you.
• Ruby: She- She does?
• Zuzo: *nods yes* See for yourself. *shows Ruby a flashback of Courtney talking to Jaune after she apologized for yelling at him*
• Courtney: Jaune…?
• Jaune: *looks up after hearing Courtney*
• Courtney: *sniffs and sheds some more tears* I miss her…
• (Zuzo then shows Courtney in tears)
• Courtney: You’re my Ohana, Ruby… And I’ll always love you…

The doorway back to Remnant/The Curious Cat reveals what truly happened to Alyx

• (Back in the Tree, a banging sound is heard)
• Jaune: What’s that?
• (The sound gets louder, Jaune moving two branches out of his way as he sees a giant, glowing door, wide open. Weiss's eyes widen as Blake steps forward)
• Blake: Is that...?
• Jaune: Our way home!
• (At the doorway, the Curious Cat possessing Neo’s body is pushed back. They desperately try to get through again, but to no avail. They then notice Team CRWBY and Jaune)
• NeoCat: *sarcastically* Oh, good! You made it.
• Courtney: *angrily* You! *activates her alicorn magic*
• Weiss: I guess your little plan to get out of here isn’t working?
• NeoCat: *standing up* You’ve always been the worst of the bunch.
• Jaune: So Neo can’t go through the door.
• NeoCat: *growls* No. She has no attachments to your world. Nothing to return to. She has failed me… just like Alyx did.
• Blake: Like… Alyx?
• NeoCat: *hisses again* That cowardly, wretched girl whose story you’ve been foolishly following all along. The same girl that I followed too…
• (A flashback shows the Cat traveling with Alyx, Lewis, and Jaune as the Rusted Knight. The group is then shown sitting around a campfire, before showing just Alyx and Lewis with the Cat traveling down a path in the Origami Acre)
• NeoCat: …Because she promised me she would bring me back to Remnant with her. But in truth, she had no intention of taking me!
• (The three are shown before the doorway at the top of the Tree)
• NeoCat: No, after talking to the Tree, she had a sudden crisis of conscience!
• (Alyx is shown closing her eyes in remorse, thinking back to when she poisoned Jaune)
• NeoCat: Decided she wanted to fix everything that she had broken in the Ever After! Including poor Jaune! And so Lewis went, and in the very last moment… Alyx didn’t…
• (Lewis is shown going through the door, and at the base of the steps, the Cat suddenly lunges towards Alyx, her dagger shown being dropped. The flashback ends)
• Blake: *angrily* What did you do to her?
• (NeoCat laughs maniacally, and then uses Neo’s body to leap and slam the ground in front of the group. They pick up a piece of wood)
• NeoCat: What anyone would do with a broken, useless thing. *breaks the wood*
• Courtney: *realizes what the Curious Cat has done to Alyx* It’s all over your face. You… You killed her!
• (The group readies their weapons)
• Jaune: No, you… you didn’t… YOU MONSTER!
• (NeoCat was about to charge at the group until they noticed Ruby's wooden state)
• NeoCat: She’s still here… Yes! All my work… it’s not lost! Deep down, she wants nothing more than to return to Remnant and play hero. I just need to cut her out, and she will take me there!
• Courtney: *stands in front of Ruby’s wooden form with her wings out to defend her from the Curious Cat* Over my dead body! *her ears drop back in anger*
• Yang: *joins Courtney along with Blake, Weiss, and Jaune* No, whatever happens to Ruby is up to her, not you or anyone else.
• NeoCat: Then, I’ll put you in the ground!
• Courtney: *puts her paws up into some fists* Bring it on, you mangy feline!
• NeoCat: No mercy this time, princess… You’ll never defeat me with those alicorn powers of yours. As if those powers would choose a weakling like you.
• Courtney: *looks at her wings and her horn* I know my alicorn powers didn’t choose me and I don’t care… I’m proud to be a small part of something bigger!
• NeoCat: *shocked by her words*
• (The images of her team and her allies; the Justice Guardians, the Rainbooms, the Kamen Rider Club Z, the MPC and the others appeared behind her)
• Courtney: My friends… They are my power!! *turns to Juniper* Juniper, protect Ruby at all costs! We’ll take care of this mangy feline!
• Juniper: *nods yes in understanding and protects Ruby’s wooden form*

NeoCat taunts Yang and Courtney

• (Back at the tree, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Courtney and Jaune duel with the Cat)
• Yang: There’s no way we’re letting you get to Ruby!
• NeoCat: *chuckles* But don’t you see? What comes out of that Tree might not even be your sister any longer!
• (The Cat uses Neo’s Semblance to make zombified clones of Ruby, further angering Yang. She punches the clones with no hesitation. The Cat bares their claws)
• Courtney: *roars angrily like a lion and attacks one of the zombified clones of Ruby head on with no hesitation whatsoever as it shatters and then clashes with the Cat* No one makes a mockery out of my big sister! Especially from the likes of you!
• NeoCat: *chuckles maniacally* You weak little princess! It’s like I said before, you’re not cut out to save anyone like your so-called adoptive "family"!
• Courtney: That maybe true but it doesn’t matter!! *uses her super strength to hold NeoCat back* I will protect my big sister… FROM YOU!!! *flies up using her wings and fires her alicorn magic at NeoCat*
• (The Cat uses Neo’s semblance to avoid the blast of magic from Courtney and knock her down to the ground from behind)
• Courtney: *gets up and shakes herself off after being knocked down to the ground from behind by NeoCat* Is that all you got?! *her ears drop back in anger as she faces NeoCat* You think that’s enough to beat me?!
