Jeffrey develops a rivalry with Bryagh because he hates Bryagh's cruelty and the fact that he eats dragon eggs. Jeffrey also gives Bryagh a scar on his chest that Bryagh wants revenge on Jeffrey for.
Bryagh hates Jeffrey for "being weak" and not willing to kill him when he has the chance to.
