Big Barda is the wife of Mister Miracle, former lieutenant of the Female Furries, and hero of Earth. Originally, Big Barda was taken away from her mother and raised by the sadistic and cruel Granny Goodness. There, Barda was tortured, brainwashed and groomed to be a warrior of Darkseid. And for a while, it seemed as though this was going to be her only future. However, this all changed when she meet Scott Free, Darkseid's adopted son. During a raid against a resistance cell, Barda meet Scott and felt a strange air of peace around him. Barda eventually came to recognize the evil of Darkseid and started helping the resistance cell. She was instrumental in helping Scott escape. Though she herself did not join him.
Eventually, Barda was able to overcome her brainwashed loyalty to Granny Goodness and escaped to earth. There she found Scott, now Mister Miracle, working as an escape artist. Over time the two fell in love and eventually married. Now, they work as part-time escape artists and part time superheroes. Barda has found confort in her mundane life on earth, recovering from the trauma of Granny's abusive raising by forming a normal human life with Scott. She and Scott both comfort and are comforted by each other as they work together to live free from Darkseid's influence. However, Barda is not afraid to stand up against Darkseid and other evils like him.
